Reverse advent collections – open times as usual 21 Dec- 2 Jan

24th November 2017

Great that you will organise a workplace, school or neighbourhood collection, maybe a reverse advent which is bringing in specific items every day from the most needed list and bringing them to the Foodbank in time to be distributed before Christmas. One company had the option of donating £1 if you forgot and collected money for us as well which was lovely. So on the first day you could bring long life juice, then instant coffee, then honey etc etc finishing on the last day with a treat like chocolate biscuits.

Excellent if you can bring the items to one of our sessions before Christmas so we can distribute in good time. 14 Dec is great, or by 21 Dec. We will be staying open with our normal hours over the festive season, so keep bringing and we will keep distributing. Remember the staple items, mince pies are not as much fun if you haven’t had breakfast.

We appreciate donations of all in-date non-perishable foods + unopened toiletries.

We always need tins of meat, fish, vegetables, tomatoes, fruit, and pulses.

The items we currently need most for redistribution to people in need are:
Spreads – honey, jam, peanut butter, Nutella
Juice UHT (apple, orange etc)
Instant coffee, hot chocolate
Milk UHT (full, semi skim, non-dairy)
Oil (sunflower, olive etc)
Custard and rice pudding
Washing powder/detergent
Deoderants and shower gel
Dishwashing liquid

(We currently have plenty of pasta and beans.)

Our opening times:
